Hail Damaged Fold-out Canvas on Hybrid29 Sep 2004 17:37 GMT4
We own a Trail Lite Bantam hybrid trailer.  We were camping in Palo
Duro Canyon this weekend when a thunderstorm dumped hail on us.  The
hail "cracked" the outer vinyl layer of the fold-out tent ends of our
camper. The hail did not penetrate the canvas, but the "cracks" in the

I'm a young guy, and I've been roaming around in my Toyota
pickup-with-shell for a long while now. I can sleep in the back, store
my climbing gear, and drive pretty much anywhere I need to (mostly
southwest backroads) with ease. I don't need a shower, I don't need

The stuff is gone and wireless routers.29 Sep 2004 07:43 GMT11
It's all gone, well, all except the Coke Machine and saw.
At about 3:00 today we were down to stuff scattered over 3 tables. I taped a
sign on the Estate Sale sign out front that said Free, Haul It Away. It was
all gone within 45 minutes.

A fine morning drive29 Sep 2004 04:12 GMT5
landed us in St. James, Minnysoda.  A nice city park with a lake to look
at for $15 a nite.  50A, sewer and water.  I think this is a moneymaker
for the city; they even advertise monthly rates.  $330.
Highest gas prices we saw were $1.93.  Here regular and super are $1.84
Cost of Prescription Drugs28 Sep 2004 23:44 GMT275
No, I purposely didn't call this one OT. IMHO it is not off topic for most of
us, because it impacts most all of us personally or someone in our families.
Recently on RORT there were several threads about this subject. Today I had an
e-mail from my sister-in-law. She knows I hate ...
Do RVer see things different than locals?28 Sep 2004 22:13 GMT2
As full timers, do we see things different than locals or are we all wet?
In the tow truck we have driven through many parts of the battleground state
of Oregon. There are political signs all over - most we do not know or care
anything about.  There are many signs on business or ...
micro-wave mounting brackets28 Sep 2004 20:08 GMT2
My Kit trailer came with the microwave mounted only on a
pair of brackets on the front of the cabinet.  It was pretty flimsy
sheet metal (maybe .040 thick), supporting a large cantilevered load.
They started cracking badly.  Anyone else have such wimpy mounts?
What a shame!28 Sep 2004 18:56 GMT4
It's been quite some time since last I visited this NG.  I had hoped
that by this time, if only by way of attrition, things would be better
and it would really be about RV travel.  Unfortunately the true
travelers are stuck behind a long line of slow moving overloaded
Tongue weight vs sway ?28 Sep 2004 07:56 GMT19
Am new to trailer towing, have a question about tongue weight
vs trailer sway. Have a bit of sway right now, will probably
have to get a equalizer setup. Any suggestions as to which of
the many are best. Most bang for the buck ?
Hurricane Jeanne28 Sep 2004 06:17 GMT6
Just finished talk to Dot (Flocala) and they are without power.  Using

husband Bob is doing OK and they did not lose power until sometime early
this morning, she said they had power until sometime after they ...
Making Some One Happy28 Sep 2004 03:23 GMT2
Bill, Hillary and Kerry are flying on Kerry's wife's private jet.
Bill looks at Hillary, chuckles and says, "You know, I could throw a
$100.00 bill out the window right now and make somebody very happy."
Hillary shrugs her shoulders and says, "Well, I could throw ten $10.00
