2 Items of very good news in the newspaper today.
Shipp's RV has been sold to FreedomRoads, a chain RV retailer.  This has
to be good news, as anyone who has experienced the shoddy service and
surly attitudes of the Shipp family can attest.  Unfortunately one of the
Question For Class A Diesel Owners09 Oct 2004 17:23 GMT9
I own a Class A Gasoline MH.  There is a nice sliding tray at the
passenger's position that we use to set our laptop on while we are
traveling.  We use the laptop with a GPS, and really like it.
None of the Class A Diesels that we have seen have a place to put a

Winnebago in our rear view mirror....09 Oct 2004 13:58 GMT2
Dropped off the motorhome at 0700 this morning and they finished
everything in one day.  We were surprised.  We will probably hit the
road tomorrow after the rain has moved through.
Toured some of the 2005 models at a local dealer today.  A 38B model had
Streets and Trips 2005 Problem09 Oct 2004 13:44 GMT5
I have installed S&T 2005 on my Dell lapop with win98se. (Meets all
S&T system requirements).  I am using a Garmin etrex GPS with it.
When I click "Track Position" the little car icon tracks just fine for
about 2-3 minutes, then disappears.  Also, the speed readout display
He couldn't even thank him09 Oct 2004 13:17 GMT114
Nice job on the debate Mr. Cheney.  It is just polite and customary to thank
ALL the parties involved and not just the moderator.  If Edwards wasn't
there, you wouldn't have gotten a change to spout your NeoCon rhetoric.
Colorado National Monument09 Oct 2004 05:23 GMT55
On our way to Moab, we stopped over-night at the Moose Lodge in Grand Junction,
CO. Our intent was to make two short drives out of one 175 mile drive.
It turned out to be one of the best accidents of our travels so far. First, we
were close to a Circuit City store, so we went in to ...

DirecTV upgrade kiit08 Oct 2004 23:52 GMT14
I'm pleased to pass on to all of you who helped convince me that solving the
internet/e-mail thingy while RV'n might be the DirecWay Satellite system. IT
WORKS! I had some problems locating the "bird" and receiving a strong enough
signal to lock on. Then I learned that the time I ...
National Parks Length Maximum08 Oct 2004 21:34 GMT2
Is there a standard length maximum for 5th wheels in national parks. If not
a "standard maximum" what's a good rule of thumb.
The 5th wheels that have what I want are in the 31'-33' range.

What I thought was an interesting tidbit.08 Oct 2004 16:19 GMT22
#2 son shot a huge mallard drake on the opener.  Had an F&W band on its
leg which he reported on the internet to the F&W Service.
Today he got the info where it was banded.  The duck was hatched in 1995
along the St. Lawrence River, northeast of Montreal.

5er truck bed clearance rule of thumb??08 Oct 2004 14:07 GMT12
My 5er is 7" above the tonneau rails at the closest point. I want to raise
my kingpin to get the trailer to tow more level. The next (and last) notch
is 1.5" higher so that would leave me with 5 1/2" clearance. Anybody have
opinions as to whether or not 5 1/2" is enough in ...
Hensley - Hooking up08 Oct 2004 02:36 GMT2
I am thinking about making the plunge and getting a Hensley.
My question is about hooking up/unhooking on uneven ground. When I
have the trailer in my drive, the trailer is level. The approach from
the street is angled (up). So...... how hard is it to hook up when the
