I know there are a lot of sat radio users in this group so I thought I'd put out an FYI about this new newsgroup. It has been in existence less than a month so it is still propagating to the severs. It IS on the German server.

| Satellite dish tripod | 24 Nov 2004 21:46 GMT | 14 |
I finally got DirectTV and an additional dish for the MH. I was told to go to Radio Shack to get a tripod but the one they showed me (I don't want to mount it on the roof) seemed awfully flimsy (sp?) and semmed to me that it would easily blow over with even a small gust of wind.

| I guess I must write a pretty good "For Sale" ad | 24 Nov 2004 14:45 GMT | 4 |
The decision has been made. The house has a contract from the first couple who looked at it on the first day of the ad. Then most of the furniture went on the first day to the first person to look at it. I'm writing this sitting on the floor with my laptop sitting on a suitcase. ...

| Alternate DC Source | 24 Nov 2004 10:33 GMT | 1 |
Has anybody had experience with a WhisperGen or similar stirling-cycle DC generator? http://www.whispergen.com/main/dcwhispergen/ Seems like it might make an interesting alternative/augmentation for solar. Seems to be able to provide domestic hot water and heating, too.

I live in Canada and cannot afford to buy a house. I was wondering if there is an RV that I can live in for the whole year. I was told that due to extreme cold it is not possible... I would like to buy a second hand 5th wheeler so that I can travel if I have to. Any suggestions?

| For those waiting to by a Sirius radio system for the RV. | 24 Nov 2004 00:49 GMT | 2 |
For those waiting to by a Sirius radio system for the RV, how does free sound? Of course, you still have to pay the subscription costs but I've never seen a better deal for a complete Sirius system. Per the web site, the offer ends Nov 24th.

| I'm tired of being cold! | 23 Nov 2004 20:35 GMT | 17 |
We're still in Pahrump, NV, and it's cold here. Maybe not as cold as some places but colder than I want. Today was in the low 40's, and tonight will be in the mid 30's. I don't want to be cold, I want to be warm and wear shorts in December, so we're moving in the morning. We had ...

Is there any way apart from taking the awning apart to tighten the spring on an A&E Awning approx 18 feet long? I know it can be done but from what I have read it can be hazardous because of the spring letting go. But figured I would ask anyways maybe there was some way of ...

| Straight unbiased advice | 23 Nov 2004 19:07 GMT | 2 |
I ran across this site while hunting more dope on macerators. It has a bunch more good stuff, valuable to newbies and old hands alike. I particularly liked the section on traveling in Mexico, which is pretty near dead on target.
