More winterizing02 Dec 2004 15:41 GMT14
I've read some discussions about winterizing, and I get the general idea,
but I have a couple of thoughts/questions, specific to my rig.  It's a '90
Southwind 36' M.  We're in the PNW, so winterizing can't be ignored.
I bought an air blow-out valve and a tee connection with a ...
When your trailer battery is dead!!02 Dec 2004 15:25 GMT3
We were stuck for awhile with our truck attached to our 5er. We had manually
cranked the front legs down and were happy that we were now attached to the
truck but when we tried to pull in the slide out with the truck running....no
luck.. We forgot out jumper cables but the park ...
Just Got New Fifth Wheel02 Dec 2004 15:15 GMT2
I am so happy. We just got our new fifth wheel.
We are going to full time as soon as our kids move into our home. Where does everyone winter over? We are looking at southern Arizona. What does most think about that area? Of course we will be moving around quite a bit but looking ...
CHASSIS02 Dec 2004 12:54 GMT10
Which chassis is on a 1991 Allegro Bay? (GAS)
My RV steering wheel and other labels and nameplate indicate Oshkosh, but
the previous owner told me who would mention F53 when ordering parts.
AGM batteries?02 Dec 2004 04:19 GMT8
I'm considering replacing my existing deep cell batteries with AGM
batteries.  I noticed that Costco had Optima AGM batteries for about
$140 each.
Has anyone had any experience with Optima AGM batteries?  Are they a
Updating Windows XP with Service Pack 202 Dec 2004 02:35 GMT85
This IS on topic because all of us use something to get on this newsgroup, and
many have computers with the Windows XP operating system.
There have been many horror stories about updating XP with SP2. Here is what I
found when I went to update my XP SP1 computer Friday. There was ...
Wanted02 Dec 2004 02:35 GMT26
Every time I want to check the batteries, I get out my Radio Shuck
Auto-range Digital Multimeter, set the dial on DC, and push the probes
awkwardly in the lighter-style DC plug inside the trailer.  It works,
but it's darned inconvenient.  Tedious.

Autotransformer question02 Dec 2004 00:28 GMT5
Hi folks(in general) and Neon John (specifically),
I've had a few e-mail exchanges with Steve W about low voltage
at campgrounds. I also   asked about the Hughes Autofromer.
Steve sent me some info from Neon John and suggested that I ask John. I
Irritated with Microsoft Streets & Trips 200501 Dec 2004 19:32 GMT13
I installed Microsoft's Streets & Trips 2005 on my laptop and
initially liked the program enough to remove my old map program.
However, this weekend, I got really irritated trying to use Streets
and Trips. I couldn't get it to find a hospital. I tried having the
Water source for Boon Docking01 Dec 2004 17:46 GMT24
I was in Wall Mart the other day and found a two gallon stackable
water jug cast of rigid plastic (PVC). They don't take up near as
much room on the counter, Much better than the floppy five gallon
jug made by Reliance, can't put but four gallons of water in it any

The following is intended to help the undecided and enfuriate bozos
who disagree.   Enjoy, and let the flames roar.

Lighting Efficiencies01 Dec 2004 14:18 GMT4
The subject of LED lighting comes up often enough that I thought I'd post
this table I recently found.

another winterizing question01 Dec 2004 14:10 GMT3
Good evening to all,
I recently moved to Redding, CA  from Southern Cal.  We never had to deal with
the winterizing thing in the past but am now wondering if this is something I
need to think about.  The nights have been getting down in the low 30's. We
