New tires and other good information07 Apr 2005 16:52 GMT10
Ordered 6 new tires for the MH yesterday. Getting them at the Costco Store
in Tucson. 6 mounted and balanced for a total of around $1650. That's the
good part. Bad part is that they're Michelin's, but that's what Costco had
to offer and I'll take it. Tires on the rig have very ...

Honda EU2000i external fuel tank07 Apr 2005 08:58 GMT2
I have 2 Honda 2000EUs that I run in parallel - and I love them.  I've put
them to the test  - but the real test is coming this year when I plan to use
them at Burning Man.
I need to run them for extended hours, much more than the small gas tanks

Inverter won't run Conv/Micro Unit - Why?06 Apr 2005 17:09 GMT10
I have a Heart 2,000 Watts Inverter/charger. It will run a 1500 Watt
space heater and a 1000 Watt coffee maker at the same time but won't
run a 1200 Watt microwave. Why not? Is it something to do with the type
of electricity (wave?) I'm over my head here but I don't want to send

We're now back in Florence, AZ. We spent the last 3 days in Tucson at
Davis-Monthan AFB in the FamCamp there. Saturday and Sunday were air show
days. WOW! Those pilots are great.
Highlight of both days was watching the Thunderbirds. Day one we were back

To equalize or not to equalize06 Apr 2005 13:37 GMT6
My MH battery bank consists of 3 Trojan SCS200(115ah). I have read articles
on the benefits of equalization for deep cycle batteries, but I would like
to hear from anyone who has actually done it.
One of the problems, if you wanted to do it, is the lack of portable battery
LED light conversion for boondocking06 Apr 2005 08:07 GMT6
I bought 2 --  12" strips with 24 LEDs each at the "Big Tent" in Quartzsite. I
removed the florescent tubes from one light and disconnected the "ballast" and
wired the LED strips to the switch.  Its been working for 3 nights now and
survived 3 hours of generator operation.  The ...

Glacier Nat'l Park RV route?06 Apr 2005 04:19 GMT4
I just read in my AAA guide that there is restricted travel for large
vehicles on the Going-to-the-Sun road through Glacier.  That's
troubling, since I was planning to enter the Park at it's western
entrance (West Glacier) and leave through the eastern entrance (St.

Was in to my insurance Co today to review my coverage and the subject
