Reefer Madness, Rattle Control And Trip Prep05 Sep 2005 07:22 GMT13
I've been busy with the motorhome almost all day. I've lined shelves
with RV ceiling carpet and used craft-store foam board to stop stuff
from rattling.  I've got my hook-end Velcro sticking plastic baskets
onto the carpet.  Left as little air space as possible.
Today's Stupid Towing Stunt05 Sep 2005 02:03 GMT15
Chapter 37 in Dumb Towing:
Today at Wal-Mart (where else) I saw a parked Ford F250 with a 30 foot
travel trailer hooked up.  Hitched to the travel trailer was a 19 foot
ski boat.  They were loading up with ice and beer and looked to be
Requisition RVs for Homeless Katrina Victims05 Sep 2005 01:33 GMT6
What do you lot think of this proposal to deal with the current
national crisis? The Government should requisition RVs with generators
for the homeless victims of the Katrina hurricane and issue the victims
with vouchers for gas and camping fees.
New Orleans - Foreign Aid05 Sep 2005 00:43 GMT1
Some ill-informed poster complained that the world wasn't helping.
How about this from the AP:
"Among the largest contributions was Kuwait's $400 million worth of
petroleum product plus $100 million in cash intended for relief efforts.
Escapees Disaster Relief04 Sep 2005 23:55 GMT36
The Escapees RV Club, Inc. has one of its common interest groups called
DOVE which stands for Disaster Operations Volunteer Escapees  (the Doves
BOF). These angels have all been through extensive Red Cross training
for disaster relief. They have made a difference after ...
Please write your Congressperson about Katrina response04 Sep 2005 23:09 GMT16
I am sickened by what has happened in the region hit by Hurricane
Katrina. Inaction on the part of the Dept. of Homeland Security and
FEMA (FEMA is now under the supervision of Homeland Security) has
resulted in the uneccesary deaths of hundreds if not thousands of
Katrina----information04 Sep 2005 21:13 GMT4
There has been a lot of talk the last few days about those that did
not evacuate.  It is something that does not make sense unless you
live along the coast and have been involved in an evacuation.
Those that evacuated from, Mississippi & Louisiana heading to the east
Up to no good in Alaska04 Sep 2005 18:36 GMT1
I'm sitting on the beach in Haines, waiting for Mardi Gras to begin.
They have their own calendar here in Haines, and Mardi Gras begins
tonight.  That's their story and they're sticking to it.
Yesterday I went up to Chilkat Lake and got some good pictures of
websites for buying/selling travel trailers04 Sep 2005 17:00 GMT3
I'm not having any luck finding a horse trailer with living quarters in
my budget and have changed my focus to just looking at travel trailers.
Which are the best sites for buying and selling travel trailers?

Re: Bulldoze New Orleans and save alot of money (??)04 Sep 2005 07:01 GMT3
'So I'm asking, why waste the money to rebuild a city that will get hid
again and again and again? Why not use that money to relocate the people
to a "New" New Orleans? Someplace above sea level.'
Reply: That thought had crossed my mind also. Its estimated to run
US97 border crossing04 Sep 2005 05:14 GMT38
Sat AM at 9:15 we drove down the mountain to town and topped of the gas,
then headed South.  I had to laugh a little when by 11:15 we had gone 50
miles.  It turned out to be a slow day driving.
The border wasn't busy so they were checking everybody.  The agent who
Beaudry RV - so far, so good04 Sep 2005 04:28 GMT24
Well, I'm here in Tucson for my service appointment for the new (used)
motor home I got on my way out west and I have to give Beaudry credit -
they are being extremely fair and reasonable with me.
Naturally, I expected them to repair (at no cost) all things covered
RV Fuel Prices04 Sep 2005 01:42 GMT148
Fuel prices in mid Mississippi are variable depending on oil company.
Shell = $2.49.9 diesel,  $2.55.9 ULR
BP    = $2.54.9 diesel,  $2.57.9 ULR
One unusual occurance is that diesel is cheaper than gas.
12v Conversion for 110/LPG Reefer04 Sep 2005 01:05 GMT32
We have a Dometic RM2510 reefer that is 110 / LPG only, and would like to
"add" 12vdc capability.
Anyone know if there is a kit to do this? The dealer/distributors I have
contacted have been predictably clueless and the factory apparently
Towing a Toad03 Sep 2005 23:53 GMT52
I know this is a dumb quetion, but this is our first toad.  Is there
something that has to be done, or is there something we did wrong, to
keep the mileage from racking up when towing a car behind a motorhome.
We have a 2005 Honda Civic which has Honda and Bob Hatch's blessings ...
