Fuel shortages?02 Sep 2005 04:37 GMT8
We "were" planning to leave on vacation in two weeks towing our TT from MO
to NC via IL,KY,TN.  From there we were going to GA via SC.  After that we
were going to meander back home thru FL,AL,MS, LA and AR.  Obviously the
"gulf" leg of our trip is now out of the question, but I ...
Parking in Nova Scotia Banned02 Sep 2005 04:35 GMT320
OK so here is my question to all.
I have a 3 acre piece of land right on the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia.
In order to use it for dry camping, I would need to bring in gravel and
a dozer to improve the ground for the weight of rigs, plus define a road
who do you call if you break down on a highway in the middle of nowhere ?02 Sep 2005 04:16 GMT21
Many people travel with cell phones.   But if you don't have AAA or Good
Sams or some other coverage,  how would you go about figuring out how to
call for help in the event of mechanical failure while on the road in your
RV ?  I assume 911 would be a bad choice but in a strange ...
Stinger movement in Receiver02 Sep 2005 01:11 GMT16
I have a drop receiver (Blue Ox) with which I am using their immobilizer.
That tightens well; however, the towbar and drop receiver move from side to
side slightly in the coach's receiver.
What would happen if I put a shim inside the coach's receiver so the drop
Quieter hood for RV range01 Sep 2005 23:18 GMT3
Does anyone know of a quieter range/cook hood for RVs?
The fan in the rangehood in mine is noisy.  It has been since new.  Or as an
alternative, there a retrofit for the fan like a small squirrel cage blower
fan for it?
Jokes out of NOLA01 Sep 2005 22:37 GMT1
This from one of my nephews who remains in town to protect his grand
mother's property.
Seems three young men are sitting on the roof on one their houses.
Looking down into the water there appears to be a ball cap floating with the
Dear God - Please raise the gasoline to $5.00 a gallon01 Sep 2005 22:27 GMT5
Let us pray.
Dear God - Please raise the price of gasoline to $5.00 a gallon. And
don't forget to use the hurricane as an excuse. We know that you steered
the hurricane away from Harry's house in Tallahassee because he prayed
George Bush will go down in history as worst president ever - maybe the last01 Sep 2005 20:31 GMT47
1. DUI felony - Daddy kept him out of jail.
2. Could get in college - Daddy pulled strings at his alma mater.
3. Mr. War hawk - Daddy got him a stint in "the old national guard."
4. AWOL - did not show up for duty except to get a tooth filled Alabama.

Yes you can make up many Mexican dishes in an RV.
But there are other dishes that will make an aroma in a small
enclosure such as a good sizes 5er. I have just started a dish that

Nova Scotia results01 Sep 2005 06:20 GMT398
So the results are in, so to speak.
The reason I posted the question of "How much would you pay" is not
because I wanted to take a piece of expensive real estate and make it
into an RV parking lot. It was because I wanted to know, without
Katrina----what local news stations are reporting/showing01 Sep 2005 06:01 GMT4
In this part of the world Katrina is 100% of what is on everyone's
mind as well as 100% of everyting on local TV.
In Pensacola the majority of the city lost power just after 2AM Sunday
morning------about 4-hours before the winds got bad.
The Current State of RVing (long)01 Sep 2005 05:00 GMT119
Rant mode on:
Someone posted here asking about the current state of RVing. As one who
has been involved with it for many years, as a camper, vacationer, 9
year fulltimer and now about to become a part-timer, I have my own
Fifth wheel hitch01 Sep 2005 04:53 GMT9
When we purchased our fifth wheel, the dealer included and installed a hitch
in the truck.  The truck is a new (2005) Ford 350 Crew Cab with the short
(6-3/4') bed. The supplied hitch is a basic slider type that allows the pin
to shift back 10 inches to allow more clearance when ...
What is the Status of RV'ing today?01 Sep 2005 04:04 GMT39
After several years of ignoring my urges for "camping", I have once again
purchased a nice, comfortable 26' travel trailer.
In my first experience, I was somewhat disillusioned by thoughts of lot's
wonderful campgrounds, where there's lots of friendly people that you would
