Do I need a 50 to 30 amp adaptor?30 Oct 2005 07:30 GMT24
I have been spending some time and money lately building and buying
various electrical adaptors and cords.  An inventory list is below, it
seems fairly complete to me.
About the only adaptor that I can think of that I do not have is a 50 to

Gasoline Prices29 Oct 2005 21:14 GMT8
In my drive across TX Wednesday, I observed prices for RUL
that fluctuated wildly from $2.35 to $2.85.  My last fillup
was at Hamilton, which is on TX 36, for $2.37.
Diesel prices were consistently from $3.09 to $3.15.  I am
Evinrude fuel tank29 Oct 2005 19:33 GMT6
Have an old Evinrude six gallon fuel tank that I'd like to use for my Honda
generator. Problem, it's the old style pressure tank with three studs for
the fuel connector. Question: What can I do to get a rubber gas line to
connect to the tank? Bought the tank at a yard sale and ...
Battery discharging and recharging?29 Oct 2005 16:48 GMT45
How long does it take for RV batteries to discharge?  The 5er is currently
in storage with the batteries, two of them, disconnected.  They were fully
charged prior to placing it in storage.  It looks like we'll need to use the
trailer 3 months after it was placed in storage.  Will ...
97 Bounder29 Oct 2005 13:27 GMT4
I have another less critical question....
...my 97 Bounder's headlight covers are cheap plastic and are starting
to fog up. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket company that has
these available in glass? I can replace with plastic but would prefer
Adding nitrogen to tires29 Oct 2005 09:59 GMT56
A local tire dealer is promoting replacing the compressed air in tires
with nitrogen.  Claims it will maintain tire pressure, keeps tires 20%
cooler and prolongs the life of the tires.  They charge $6.50 per tire
to do this.  Any opinions for or against?

transmission oil for F25029 Oct 2005 02:59 GMT69
I did an extensive service on my 97 F250 the other day.  We took a
dinner break and then went to finish up, only to realize that we had
forgotten to buy transmission oil.  Oops.  Well, there's a WalMart
nearby - they aren't open 24 hours but they are open until 10 pm so off
Truck Camper for GMC 1500 (1/2 ton)28 Oct 2005 19:18 GMT5
Bill, thanks for directing me to a lighter kind of truck camper - made by
Four Wheel Campers.  The model that would fit my truck, the "Hawk" weighs
only 695 lbs.  This company is worth checking into further.  I note however
that the company has no dealers and has factory locations ...

Rear axle question28 Oct 2005 14:23 GMT7
I just replaced my Silverado 1500 Z71 short bed box with a new one. The old
one had a rear axle ratio of 3.73 and I couldn't have been happier with it.
It pulled my 21-5R Nash 5th wheel beautifully, even over the Cascade
mountains to the Oregon Coast.
O T ::::  Pre Halloween Scare28 Oct 2005 12:29 GMT12
Went to the bank today to get some budget money for my SO.
Got my funds from the cashier and the car would not start.
Pushed it out of the way and someone gave me a jump start.
Got home and reached for the envelope and no envelope, I
Tire seperation28 Oct 2005 06:23 GMT9
Does anyone in the USofA make a tire capable of being used on the
highway and NOT seperating after nominal use? I have replaced all the
tires on my 2001 Ford F-250 after only 25000 miles. I also had to
replace all the tires on my 2004 Buick after 28000 miles. When I
Hunter's Lastest remodel - The Microwave28 Oct 2005 04:36 GMT72
Hi Gang,
Anyone who has been in my trailer knows that it's an on going redesign
project. As far as I'm concerned Airstreams are like new coloring
books. The lines are there but you have to fill them in.
