Tow car recommendations.09 Mar 2006 04:20 GMT113
A few already know I'm in the market for a new toad. I was curious what
you'all thought would be a good choice given the following criteria:
1) Towable 4 wheels down without racking up mileage or modifications
(racking up mileage while being towed is not preferable but not a show
Accurate Auto Transmission Fluid Reading09 Mar 2006 02:46 GMT11
This might apply to anyone with a 5 ft. long dipstick.
Read the instructions on the dipstick; check hot and in neutral.
The top of the stick says 'add a pint', the bottom of the stick is
smeared halfway with fluid. Turn over the stick, same result.

             I don't know what's happening. I post replies and they don't
show. You reply and they don't show either.
I can only find things if I do a Google search on groups. So I
deleted all messages and did a catch up.
Pin Weight % Mythbusters?08 Mar 2006 23:59 GMT6
Chev truck driver's manual says pin weight should be 15-25% of trailer
weight compared with 10-15% tongue weights.  People here say 25% pin weight
would make for better towing.    Some also think RKs are lighter in the pin
than RLs.  Loading forward for a trip is recommended to ...

Travel Trailer With Factory Generator?08 Mar 2006 22:53 GMT5
Hi, Anybody know of a travel trailer manufacturer that sells a unit
that has a generator? Or maybe as an option? It seems like all I can
find are the toybox type TT's that have one "built in". Thanks, Jim
About time about these college loans08 Mar 2006 22:51 GMT23
I have a friend of mind who went and applied for early SS benefits. He
is 62. He found out that the government is going to take a specified
amount out of his monthly checks to pay for the college loan he never
paid in full. He was whining to me and I told him the same thing I am

What so you consider the best battery you've purchased?
I've had no luck with Sears.  I heard Intersate were good.

Unexpected good service by manufacturer (NuWa)08 Mar 2006 13:36 GMT38
I had a couple of water leaks in my 5th wheel trailer.  So...  On a whim I thought I'd
email the manufacturer, NuWa, the maker of HitchHiker and Showbird trailers.  Two
days later they called me on the cell phone to give me some advice.
1.  Water leak one was the gasket between the ...
Biodiesel08 Mar 2006 13:33 GMT31
Hi Gang,
Two weeks ago I read that Willie Nelson's diesel pusher runs on
vegetable oil. I heard it in passing and didn't pay attention.
Then last week, at the Sarasota Rally I saw friends who are very into
The Ghost In the Heater Fan08 Mar 2006 13:19 GMT30
The 81 Dodge I bought recently has a DuoTherm propane heater, but I
can't say the age of the unit itself. It appears to have an automatic
lighting feature; at least I see no sign of a pilot light or
hand/pizo. ( I haven't started the thing yet myself.... out of gas,
Various Bounces Question08 Mar 2006 06:56 GMT3
Can people help explain just what these are so I can maybe figure out what
is happening with our trailer sometimes?
Pin Bounce- Just what is that?  I don't think it is a fore and aft surging
from a too- loose hitch's grip on the pin (for which there is an adjustment
Ping Harry E.  Creel Limits08 Mar 2006 06:26 GMT7
Hey Harry!!  What are the daily creel limits on a.sholes?  Or are they a
nuisance species and should be left on the bank to die?
I caught a great big fat one last night and don't know whether to keep
him or not.
Mexican Gas and Currency08 Mar 2006 04:12 GMT35
I'll be traveling and I'll be passing through El Paso Texas.  I will go
across the boarder with the car to Jarez which is El Pasos Mexico side.
Is 87 Octane Gasoline less expensive in Mexico?  Will the gas stations
accept American Dollars or will I have to pay in Pesos?  Where can ...
