Cleaning fresh water tank07 Mar 2006 18:41 GMT69
One of the e-mail based RV-discussion groups recently discussed
cleaning your RV's fresh water tank.
One said that they poured vinegar into their tank, let it sit
overnight, then drained it only to put baking soda in it.
Another Battery Charging Question07 Mar 2006 17:55 GMT15
I notice my Vector 1090A says it wants 120AC and 335 input watts.  It also
has some sort of compensation for lower voltage and will still work.
I now use this with a generator or shore power.  Can I also put my cheapo
400 watt  inverter on the truck's battery and plug in the Vector ...

While going over the RV I found a heater hose that's been rat chewed
almost all the way through, but it's still holding hot water. What
could I do if I made this discovery out in the boonies and had to get
it to town? Some kind of special tape I could get maybe? Smear it with

Reflecting on Reflections07 Mar 2006 14:05 GMT18
Our motorhome has nearly vertical windshields and side windows which
reflect every little bit of "cockpit" light making night driving
annoying (and perhaps a little dangerous). Does anybody have any ideas
on how to cut down the reflectivity of the inside of the glass without
Truck Bed Question07 Mar 2006 03:26 GMT20
I am looking at two trucks.
Dodge MegaCab 3500 and Dodge QuadCab3500.
The MegaCab only comes in a 6.5' bed, while the other comes in a 6.5 and 8.
Yesterday, the salesman told me that with the 6.5' bed, there is a problem.

choosing not to archive and they only stayed 5 days. Not sure what I did, I
Long Distance Buying06 Mar 2006 22:42 GMT2
My wife and I will retire next March.  As soon as our travel trailer
sells, we willl start seriously looking for a Tiffen or National RV

Has anyone here bought a motorhome over the internet?  Since we have a
Filters06 Mar 2006 21:33 GMT76
This AM I deleted my usenet filter file, and then downloaded about 200
messages in this NG.   I then systematically created a new smaller
collection of plonkees including Canoli, Linus, Hogland, and their
ilk.  I found it interesting that most post multiple times daily.

Today we had the distinct privilege of a visit from fellow
RORT members Aubrey and Carol. They came to our
consignment store today (Sunday) to visit us, while
on their way to Trader Joe's in Walnut Creek.
