RORT visit11 May 2006 23:48 GMT9
A few minutes ago I said goodbye to Frank Tabor, who stopped by this
afternoon for a visit.
I showed him around the place. We drank iced tea, worked on a couple of
computer questions/problems I had, ate supper, and talked a bunch. Bet

Opinions needed on Ebay thing11 May 2006 14:17 GMT15
I purchased a USED Coleman Hot Water on Demand unit from a guy on Ebay.
When I got it, the on/off spigot for the 5 gallon watter carrier was not
there. He did not mention this was missing on his Ebay page. I emailed
him and asked him to send it to me.
Newbie Q: RV or car trip?11 May 2006 14:10 GMT34
Hey all:
We're pondering a RV trip this September, down 101 through WA, OR, and
CA - starting (maybe) in Victoria and ending in SanFran. We're thinking
we could take it slowly, maybe 2-3 weeks for the trip.
Route From SF Bay area to Bishop and Mono Lake11 May 2006 13:58 GMT2
I'm thinking to plan a trip from San Jose, CA to Bishop/Monolake area
for 4 days, probably July 4 weekend. For what I knoe, the shortest way
to get to Monolake area is to go through Yosemite NP. But I also heard
the road outside Yosemite is a long steep downward road. Is it safe for
Leveling Jacks11 May 2006 06:57 GMT16
What are the pros and cons for leveling jacks. Buying a coachman
concord 275DS, how important are they, will be doing some off road,
mostly state parks, and rv parks.
Thanks
Medicare in red11 May 2006 03:58 GMT61
According to the NYT Medicare began paying out more than it was taking in in
2004 but that today it is back in the black.  What I am wondering is if the
prescription drug plan is somehow responsible for the overall plan now being
solvent.  That would explain the government's ...

Cellphone "booster"10 May 2006 23:16 GMT15
I keep hearing about so-called cellphone "boosters" being available on
the market.
Are these the "cradle mounts" that act as battery chargers and external
antennas for ordinary cellphones in the car -- which have been available
Air Filter Test and Data10 May 2006 19:58 GMT7
Here below is a link to a very interesting test of air filters.
The brands of filters tested were: AC Delco, Baldwin, Amsoil, Wix, Uni,

I'st timer - Let me try again10 May 2006 15:15 GMT4
My Tacoma is a V-6 and the owners manual says it can safely tow 5000
pounds. We have seen a number of Travel trailers in the 2500 to 3500 lb
category (17 to 21 feet).  We do not plan to make this our permanent
home.
Prince George, BC, RVs in Parking Lots10 May 2006 04:50 GMT7
Boy, did we stir up debate in Prince George, British
Columbia when we reported last week that the City Council
had proposed to change its bylaws to prohibit overnight RV
stays in public parking lots! Check out the comments by the
Travel Journal 2006-210 May 2006 04:28 GMT6
Have uploaded the final chapter of the 2006-2 travel journal.
In view of the high cost of fuel, I don't think I'll do more long distance
camping trips in the near future.
