Canada to US customs09 Jul 2006 14:35 GMT4
We left BC Thur via 97 and the crossing was one of the easiest ever.  He
asked for ID and I gave him our passports and my drivers license.  He handed
the license back without even looking at it and checked the passports.
Asked if there was anyone else in the MH and if we bought ...
Toad on Fire09 Jul 2006 12:36 GMT16
With our 5th wheel safely tucked away at an RV park in Mackinaw City today,
we drove out to a local golf course.  Less than 100 yards from the entrance
the road was blocked.  We could see an ambulance, and fire truck on our side
of the road and a big MH on the other side of the road ...
ABS drain pipe repair09 Jul 2006 07:50 GMT12
What's the best way to re-join two ends of ABS drain pipe coming out
of a grey tank?
Why?  (sigh..) The gas filler hose on my Provan Tiger developed a leak
and had to be replaced.  I was getting gasoline puddles on the ground
Door Latch Woes09 Jul 2006 05:00 GMT6
Of all the RV mishaps I have ever imagined or experienced (the loose sewer
hose was the previous winner), nothing prepared me for the latest.  Friday
was the typical starting day of a camping trip for us.  Loading the dogs and
kids took longer than expected.  Wrapping up work ...
MH on side blocking I15 N09 Jul 2006 02:48 GMT1
About 40 miles north of the Montana/Idaho line in the I15 N lane we saw a
Class A MH on it's side.  There wasn't any visible collision damage and the
front was pointing toward the shoulder so my guess is that he was in the
left lane and blew a right front tire, or was distracted ...

Securing a tool box in a pickup bed?08 Jul 2006 19:49 GMT9
I am about to buy a tool box that will fit in the front of my pickup
bed.  Since I have a 5th wheel, I will get one that sits below the bed
rails, so I don't hit it with my RV.  (The common tool boxes that rest
on the truck bed rails are not a good solution for those of us that ...

allegro08 Jul 2006 14:06 GMT8
hey all you folks with experience i am looking at a tiffin allegro with
no slide outs and the ford chassis 460 engine.  This unit is a 2001
with 13,000 miles on it.  What is a resonable price to pay????  Does
this chassis come with overdrive?  What are common problems with the
Yahooo. Canon City, CO08 Jul 2006 04:58 GMT5
We got into Canon City, CO yesterday about 2:00. Set things up on the MH,
got the TV going, and then set up the Dustyfoot. Good signal, no cross pol.
Couldn't get on until early this AM, after a long take with someone in
India, then a long wait to talk to someone in the US. Final ...
GM Motorhome VIN Info08 Jul 2006 01:58 GMT5
The fourth character in my GM VIN is "L".  My service manual doesn't know
what that it.  I'm fairly sure it relates to the 16,500 GVWR as the
character has to do with weight and brakes.  Anyone know where to find such
information?  Internet VIN decoders don't work with motorhomes ...
Travel related----really....08 Jul 2006 01:56 GMT1
Wolfsburg, Germany (Daily Mail) -- It has proved one of the most
endearing of cinematic legends - a loveable car with a mind of its own that
can drive itself. And for 40 years Love Bug - as the Volkswagen Beetle was
dubbed in its first movie outing - has enthralled millions of ...
17 mpg pulling a 5th wheel?07 Jul 2006 21:45 GMT93
I was talking to someone today who was telling me that a diesel would
get 17 mpg, whether it was empty or pulling a 5th wheel or a trailer.
He claimed that he had owned both 5th wheels and trailers.  I find this
really hard to believe, to the point that it makes me question his

Gatlinburg TN07 Jul 2006 13:57 GMT24
I will be in Gatlinburg Aug. 12 through Aug. 18. Has anyone been there?
We'll be traveling with 2 other families, we each have our own units. But I
need ideas for things to do.  From the brochures it looks to be a lot of
paid atractions, unless we drive into the national park.
