Boondocking in Ca.30 Aug 2006 03:06 GMT33
Does anybody here like to boondock? I've been camping the Southern Sierras
for 30 years in a tent, and know some pretty good spots. Some have water,
some have dumps, and all are free. Now I do pay, even in a big tent,
sometimes (the beach mostly), but my favorite times are when I ...
Older tow vehicle R12 to R134 conversion30 Aug 2006 02:04 GMT35
Anyone have experience with converting an older AC system from R12 to R134a
refrigerant?
I'm puzzled by the lack of concern about recovering the old R12.  I have
talked to 13 repair shops so far.  Not a single one is interested in
Good Sam Service Plan30 Aug 2006 01:04 GMT1
We had a service plan for our appliances with Good Sam. we traded the
Fifth Wheel for a Motor Coach.
When we contacted them to cancel the plan they wanted $50.00 to cancel.
I thought this was an insurance plan and if you don't pay you lose the
Diesel VS Gas29 Aug 2006 22:11 GMT40
A few years ago I saw an article about diesel VS gas, and the break even
point (as far as money) was "X" number of miles per year for "X" number of
years.
I wonder what the break even point is today, because the price of gas/diesel

Anyone have TMobile??29 Aug 2006 18:41 GMT8
Have had Verizon for quite a few years and now that we have switched from
"fulltime" to "half time" travel and our house is in Extended Network
between towers, Verizon says they can't support our service.  In your
travels around the country, does anyone have TMobile to tell me ...
living in an rv during the winter29 Aug 2006 16:10 GMT11
My 1986 Mallard Travel Trailer is parked under a shed roof next to our
pole barn.  I have a small septic for cleaning the tanks.  Also, water
and electric are hooked up to it.  A person in our church is in need of
a place to live for the winter (which in Michigan can get very cold),
IE V729 Aug 2006 15:44 GMT35
Ok, this is the way it usually goes.  After finally getting Firefox
configured the way I wanted it, I mentioned to my son-in-law that I
really liked the way the tabbed pages work.  First thing out of his
mouth is: You haven't used IE V7 yet, have you?  It does tabs.
Scott's Take on Boondocking29 Aug 2006 15:09 GMT1
Let me get this straight:  You spend about 40K on a nice 5th Wheeler; You
spend 40K on a nice truck to pull it; You spend no telling how much to
furnish/outfit your rig to your liking; You pay extra insurance to cover all
your new toys, and then you want to take it to a secluded ...

Generator/AC question29 Aug 2006 02:54 GMT2
I had a weird thing occur. Maybe someone knows the answer.
90 Bounder, Onan NHE, series E 6500 watt jenny, 2 Coleman AC's.
On shore power, of course, run only one jenny at a time, and the usual
front/rear switch. On the jenny, run both AC's at the same time.
Need help selecting parts!29 Aug 2006 02:43 GMT27
I'm a bit under the gun timewise and I'm not current on all the
goodies that are available this week.  I'm hoping some of you folks
will take a minute to make suggestions.
I'm refitting a 1967 Travois 14' camp trailer for four-season
Leaving trailer "plugged in"28 Aug 2006 20:06 GMT11
Hello - I've been considering running an electric outlet to the area on
my property where I park my 2005 Jayco Travel trailer with the idea
that I could start up the fridge before travelling or run the AC while
we clean / pack.
Q: Carlson model 108C in-floor gravity furnace28 Aug 2006 19:39 GMT14
So, I have this 1967 Travois 14' camp trailer, actually 11' of trailer
and 3' of tongue.  I'm in the process of updating it.
It has an in-floor propane heater.  Never saw one like it before.
It's a Carlson Model 108C "gravity floor furnace".
