Full Timing17 Aug 2006 02:10 GMT62
We are planning to begin full timing in a few years down the road. The
original plan was to go with a 5th wheel (32-36 ft) and a large tow
vehicle (F450 or better or equivalent). With this combo, we would spend
about the same amount (or maybe a little less) than a good motor home ...
Europe Travel16 Aug 2006 12:40 GMT4
Going to see my daughter near Frankfurt June 2007 and looking for
creative alternatives for the trip.  Any idea whether the equivalent
of DeLorme's Street Atlas exists for Europe?  GPS capable preferred?
We also plan to cover Ireland, England, Nethelands, Belgium, France,
Update on Connie16 Aug 2006 06:34 GMT75
Some of you expressed interest, if not horror, at the fact that I
had acquired a flying dog.  She has since learned to swim, run,
and chew up my shoes.  Not bad for a week.
I was afraid she might be hard of hearing, but it turns out she
Michelin XRV :-)16 Aug 2006 02:09 GMT3

The French owned Michelin Tire company passed off the combat assault vehicle
tires known as the XRV (Extreme Retreat Velocity) as a high speed stable
tire for use in the United States on recreational vehicles.

In another few days, we have to decide on a route between these two
cities.
The choice is between taking the Yellowhead Highway through Edmonton or
going south through Calgary. Aside from a trip from the Lower 48 to
Ordering satellite PPV while traveling in a  RV ? How?16 Aug 2006 00:26 GMT6
Getting Satelite TV, will take a reciever to hunting cabin, but I'm
also interested in using in a RV in the future. I'm assuming you would
have to order by cell phone when in an RV?
I'm assuming this because the dish only recieves signal. not transmit?
Help on a purchase & advice on best brands15 Aug 2006 18:07 GMT4
I am a novice looking at a new 2006 Thor Summit 22 ft TT for $14,000 at
a dealer in CA.  Also  can anyone tell me what the quality TT's are and
how soft the market is for new TT's w/o popouts.
Thanks

your current address.
Wondering when you will be leaving the cold north for the warm southwest?

Verizon Broadband.... any good for full timers?15 Aug 2006 00:46 GMT33
Now that we're full timing, we miss having Internet access all the
time.  We no doubt spend more than the $60 per month in WiFI coffee

band?  Does it work outside of metro areas?  How well does it work?

I had done considerable research before deciding what to buy and noted
that Keystone has had problems with the slide-outs in other models,
