I-25 in Colorado is TERRIBLE26 Aug 2007 17:20 GMT12
Yesterday we dropped out of Wyoming heading to New Mexico via I-25.
I-25 north of Denver is TERRIBLE.  It is as bad as I-10 from Houston
east to Lake Charles, Louisiana.
In some respects Colorado is a progressive state.  As far as
Lessons Learned26 Aug 2007 15:57 GMT48
Ten things learned this summer:
1. 117 isn't too bad, but 132 is too damn hot.
2. While the little Cummins diesel in my genset will happily thump away
without protest, above 120 the alternator says "are you kidding me?" and

Bob, what are Fishing Bridge's rules about those hybrid type of trailers?
The kind that are hard sided but have a bed that flips out on one or both
ends of the trailer.

Rocky Mountain State Web Cams26 Aug 2007 02:33 GMT6
I am putting together a list of Web Cam links that I plan to expand in
coming weeks. Right now it is a a mixture of State and privete
sponsored ones. Some are pretty nice.  Feel free to check them out if
you want too or to make suggestions as to what to add to it.

We just spent 3 days visiting Barry's boyhood friend and his wife in
Honesdale, PA. They have a "cottage" on a private lake in the
hinterlands. They had to lead us in and out as  we would have become
totally lost if they hadn't. I don't think this place is on anyone's
Festivals and Events24 Aug 2007 22:17 GMT17
As we wind down full timing and start part timing, we plan on visiting various festivals and
events around the country in the 5th wheel.  So we started to put together a list of top
events, but came up  a bit short.  Additions to the list would be appreciated. (*) means

Droopy Slide24 Aug 2007 19:04 GMT1
Maybe it was the 100 miles of dirt road. I've just noticed that the aft end
of the galley slide in my coach is dragging on the floor as it's being
extended or retracted. At full extension or retraction the slide seems to
fit properly, but mid-way though the cycle the inboard edge ...
Onan Generator low operating voltage24 Aug 2007 16:59 GMT18
6.5KW Onan generator on 1988 Holiday Rambler Alumilite
Generator voltage was low with one AC unit operating, around 108-109
VAC. Two would drop the volts down to 103 which is too low. The
frequency recovers OK as the load changes and generally runs right at
Lazy Daze thoughts?24 Aug 2007 16:29 GMT32
Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and help. I have thought a lot
about fifth wheels vs class c's (and even class a's). I have a few
more things I need to consider, what I will do with my time, what I
want to see in the rv, etc. I have recently been looking at the Escape
Michelin Xrv tires vs Goodyear G670 rv tires.24 Aug 2007 16:06 GMT18
Michelin offers a 5 yr warantee and Goodyear offers a 4 yr warantee.
Costco sells the Xrv 240/70r/19.5 LHF for $283 installed. But here in
Connecticut they said that they do not have the facilities to install them.
The G670 rv,  same size and load are, $291 plus balancing ($24 each ...
Opinions about a certain brand of RV24 Aug 2007 11:40 GMT61
I'm new here but spend a lot of time on rec.sport.snowmobile so I think this
may be a touchy subject.
Last year I purchased a brand new Salem travel trailer.  I was just
wondering what others out there thought of the product as I am very
A Different Formaldehyde in Trailers Story24 Aug 2007 04:39 GMT4
This one has a nice "cold, calculating" corporation twist to it:

Are you at Raccoon Valley? We are driving from London, KY to Chattanooga
tomorrow. Would you and Marie consider coffee at a mutually agreed place?
