Brake Failures Due to Rust23 Apr 2008 17:43 GMT11
Every American-branded car in my extended family, with the single
exception of my Saturn, has suffered failed brake lines after they rust
through.  My neighbor just limped his truck home.  Numerous foreign cars
have not had the problem.  In the mid-70s American cars would rust
Fuel Pumps23 Apr 2008 15:29 GMT18
In the gas pump thread, fuel pump failure in rigs was discussed.
Has anyone ever tried to use an external electric pump instead
of having to change the one in the tank ?
I think this might be possible because of a problem I had with

Movies on-demand while RVing..23 Apr 2008 13:24 GMT4
Anyone try movies on-demand with your laptop while traveling?
I'm impressed.  I've run a standard SVGA cable to my HDTV along with a
3.5mm audio cable.  It's like watching a regular DVD. No limits on how
many you watch using Netflix.. No, I don't own any stock in Netflix.
RV Vacuum23 Apr 2008 12:40 GMT17
My central vacuum system is installed. Wow, what a treat! That thing
makes short work of cat hair and pine needles and I should have done
it sooner. Thanks to all of you for your suggestions when I was
shopping the systems. I ended up with the Dirt Devil and am mighty
Back from vacation22 Apr 2008 20:17 GMT47
Well, here I am after a few days of time away. Still alive, still well, and
still on the road.
We've been in Florence, AZ since mid October, and only made one trip all
winter. That one to Las Vegas to see the Christmas lights. Didn't get over
Challenges of Using Fuel Cells to Power Our Cars22 Apr 2008 15:49 GMT15
Clean, reliable, efficient energy is possible through the use of
hydrogen fuel cells. Fuel cell vehicles that have hydrogen stored on
board do not produce any pollution. Their only byproducts are water
and heat.
6 days travel in 2 days22 Apr 2008 13:44 GMT15
Yup, that's what we've done. Left Florence, AZ on Saturday at 8:15 AM. Drove
to Arizona Charlie's in Las Vegas for one night. Miles for that day, 356. Up
early this AM and on to Ely, NV. Total miles for today, 242. Here in Ely for
one night, then on to Hagerman, ID for 6 days. ...

Trip to Baton Rouge22 Apr 2008 06:26 GMT15
I am going to be going to Baton Rouge for an extended job (about
a month).  I have lived around there quite a bit, but never with
an RV, so I am looking for suggestions for RV parks with long
term rates close to the city if not in it.

Thought I knew everything about everything..  then this..
I have my toad wired not through the toad wiring, but a complete
separate harness from the RV to a single 2 stage bulb [1157] on the left
rear and right rear..
FL to VT20 Apr 2008 22:49 GMT10
I was wondering if anyone can point me to a good site where I can look at RV
capable routes. Is there anything like a mapquest yet for RVs?
I am going to rent an RV again. (We didn't buy one yet after our first
rental although we have the RV fever) I have to go up to Vermont from
Solar power tilt20 Apr 2008 22:48 GMT4
Does anyone make (or has anyone made) a power tilt for solar panels?  I
imagine a sort of jack screw arrangement should be pretty easy to fabricate,
and relatively trouble-free.
