Newbie Back from trip questions23 Jun 2008 17:24 GMT16
We did A 6 night trip downstate to see what the Catskill/lower
Hudson regions were all about.  Saturday was a joyfull introduction to
driving hilly country in a driving rain.  The week was a lesson on why
the rolling cabin beats a tent!!  Rain every day, cold most.  The main
Unparalled Beauty --- The Oregon Coast23 Jun 2008 11:13 GMT7
If you're ever heading north to Oregon from points south (i.e. L.A.
area), forget Interstate 5 unless you like almost 500 miles of b-o-r-i-
n-g.  As soon as you can, head over to Highway 101 and/or 1 in
California and wend your way up through the Bay Area and northern
How about a solar-powered motor home ?23 Jun 2008 04:41 GMT5
Since motor homes have large surface areas for
attaching solar panels and they don't have to be
driven everyday, it makes a lot of sense to build
motor homes which can be powered entirely by

Flush/Clean RV city water lines?23 Jun 2008 03:39 GMT5
What's the best way to clean out the internal city water line in a
small RV?
For short stays, I usually use water from my fresh water tank, (it
comes from home and I know what's in it), but at the last big
Trailer tires23 Jun 2008 02:44 GMT12
Last year was the first time I've had to buy new tires for a trailer.
That's when I learned that there aren't any speed rated for over 65 MPH.
So how is it that every now and then someone posts a message indicating
they had driven 75 - 80 MPH (while towing)?
Bye Bye usenet news for Time-Warner customers22 Jun 2008 21:39 GMT14
Time Warner has put a notification up in the RR help section
indicating they are killing all Usenet as of June 23, 2008.
As I am mostly just a reader here and 8 or 10 other newsgroups until I
can justify the expense of a giganews or teranews account I will do
Bye bye alt.rv and uk.rec.caravanning22 Jun 2008 18:42 GMT27
Looks like NY Governor Cuomo (a democrat of course) has forced his
hand in cutting off most of USENET because, out of over 100,000
newsgroups, 88 contained child pornography.
That's like amputating the whole leg because of a hangnail.

Anyone pulling 13k with gas powered 3/4 ton or bigger PU?21 Jun 2008 21:20 GMT70
I'm considering trading in the 2006 F350 PSD 6 liter for an 08 model pickup
with a gas engine.  I pull a 29 foot 5th wheel toy hauler.  No slides, but
it is I Beam construction which adds some weight.  Packed and wet, the
trailer comes in around 13k.
HWH 610 Series Leveling System21 Jun 2008 15:31 GMT22
Possibly somebody can help me with this problem, I have the HWH 610 Series
Leveling system, yesterday the left front jack would not retract called
Coach net, suggested to release the pressure on the return valve and top of

Propane tank warning21 Jun 2008 00:40 GMT28
The following was received by my niece in Queen's Creek, AZ, and passed
on to me. She works for the city there. There really is a Chief Deputy
Scott Mellinger in Monroe, county, Indiana, as demonstrated by this
story in today's paper.

In re:  your wish to visit a mock Mars by way of Antarctica.
Here's a little incentive from that part of the world.  Give it
two minutes and you'll be hooked.
