I have a number of 12VDC Thin-lite fluorescent light fixtures that use both F8T5 and F15T8 tubes, in my motorhome. The fluorescent lamp life is very short compared to what I experience with 120VAC fixtures. I have checked the voltage at the fixture and it is good. "Good"

Just now, while moving my desk chair around, I caught a USB cord hanging from my HP laptop, and CRASHED the thing to the floor, about a two foot drop. It was dormant at the time. The screen came alight, but otherwise nothing happened.
