car rental tax?10 Jul 2003 19:42 GMT5

other states have this tax as well? Why is it so much higher than the
sales tax? I don't remember seeing this type of tax last time I rented

Liberty Island & Ellis Island09 Jul 2003 17:30 GMT3
I'm going to be in NYC next month and was looking at going to Ellis
Island and/or the Statue of Liberty.
Firstly, it looks like the Statue is still closed (unless these web
pages are out-of-date) though Liberty Island is still open.
Hotwire Ripoff09 Jul 2003 03:55 GMT15
I used Hotwire.com on 7/3 to book a room for 1 night (July 4th) at
$62.00, a good price.  When I got the email confirmation from them the
room price was $62.00 per night + $12.95 taxes and booking fees,
totalling $74.95.  The rate did not include breakfast, costing another

Destin, Florida: Decent movie theater(s)?09 Jul 2003 00:13 GMT3
I will soon be taking a vacation in Destin, Florida.  Since there are
actually several good movies being released in the near future, there's a
good chance my family will pick a rainy day to go see one of them.
One thing that I have never seen in Destin OR Ft. Walton Beach is a
Keith Willshaw/E-Tickets08 Jul 2003 23:15 GMT1

you have an e-ticket you must have this piece of paper.   You don't need it
to board the plane it has two uses:

Good morning. We're flying into and out of Providence for the first time in
