I feel a filk coming on....18 Sep 2003 08:39 GMT2
A filksong is a science fictional folksong parody. Some dumbbunny
'communications' major once typoed "folksong" into "filksong", and the
malapropism done stuck.  So, here's a filksong, inspired by Air Canada and
our trip to the WorldCon in Toronto.

Accomodation on Oahu18 Sep 2003 00:23 GMT6
We will be spending 3 nights on Oahu and aren't real keen to stay in the
traditional tourist spots. We are after any recommendations for somewhere
quiet, reasonably cheap ($50-100/night), close to the beach, and somewhere
to have a nice cold beer or three.

Isabel is looking like it will hit the US coast near Cape Hatteras late
Wednesday and Thursday - the present projected path has it going across the
Chesapeake Bay, right on over Washington, D.C. and up into Pennsylvania.
Cell phone for snow bird17 Sep 2003 22:07 GMT14
Getting to be that time of year when an old man's thoughts turn to
warmer pastures in the south.  In previous years we've taken our Telus
Mobility (B.C.) phone with us and have paid dearly in some cases for
roaming charges, in some cases as high as $6.00 per day.  Now I'm

We're going to New York City at christmas.  We have 3 spare days and would

Secaucus, New Jersey16 Sep 2003 02:23 GMT6
We are planning a trip to the New York City area next month.  We've been

stay right in the city.  What hotel(s) do you recommend for our stay?
Thanks.
