Driving around the Deep South31 Oct 2003 20:16 GMT13
I am planning a 2-3 week trip to Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabma and
Tennessee next January.  The idea is to rent a car/van and cruise
around small country roads.  The main objective of this trip is
photography - "people in their environment" (not landscape).

Phoenix AZ: phoning home and Frank Lloyd Wright30 Oct 2003 22:53 GMT10
I'm planning a short (< 1 week) visit to Phoenix from the UK next
month, and was wondering about the simplest/cheapest way to phone
home.  Looking at other threads on the subject in the group, it
appears that a card bought in the US is the best deal, but it would be
Westin Maui30 Oct 2003 17:57 GMT2
Can anyone offer comments re this hotel?  Good/Bad/Indifferent/Great Value/Too Pricey?
Would you recommend Mtn. View, Garden View, or Partial Ocean View?  The last resort we went to with partial ocean view required one to hang over the edge of the lanai to glimpse the ocean.

Disney World & Florida30 Oct 2003 17:43 GMT5
Thinking of going to Disney with the family. I see that Kissimmee is close
by and has cheaper hotel rates than maybe staying on the resort. Any
suggestions on where to stay? Also what time of the year would be best in
terms of weather and avoiding long waits for the rides? Also ...
Killington VT to Niagara Falls30 Oct 2003 17:30 GMT4
I intend to round off a skiing holiday by going to Niagara Falls this
February.
Can anyone advise me of the best (scenic and speed) route to take?
Also, a hotel recommendation would be helpful (family).
Grand Canyon South Rim - hiking tips ?30 Oct 2003 14:07 GMT1
We are spending our Christmas vacation in Grand Canyon National Park (South
Rim, Maswick Lodge).
A couple of years ago, we already visited the South Rim, and did all the
lookout points up to Hermit's Rest, but we didn't do any hiking at the time.
Accommodation in Manhattan30 Oct 2003 10:20 GMT1
I am planning a trip to Manhattan for 5 days end of June - early July.
I was just wondering where the most convenient area to stay would be
and if anyone knew of any cheapish (under $100 USD a night), central
accommodation with private bathroom.
Grand Canyon Christmas Vacation30 Oct 2003 08:43 GMT1
We have booked our Christmas vacation (12/23 - 12/28) in the Maswick Lodge
at Grand Canyon National Park (South Rim).
We will arrive at Flagstaff Airport around 9.20 PM on 12/23.
Since we will spend our days hiking inside the National Park; is it
stop between atlanta and louisiana30 Oct 2003 04:15 GMT5
In a few weeks I am driving with my parents from the east coast to
Lousiana, and am looking for an nice place to spend the night. My
estimate is somewhere along I-20 between Atlanta and Birmingham or maybe
along I-85 between Atlanta and Montgomery.
Sedona -where and what30 Oct 2003 03:02 GMT6
We want to spend 2 days in Sedona next month. Can anyone recommend a very nice
hotel and maybe some things to see while there? I would really appreciate the
help. I've looked on the Web but frankly don't know what part of town is best
to stay in for sightseeing.
Road Trip Around the US29 Oct 2003 23:52 GMT9
Just completed a 4-week 9,000 miles car trip, staying at reasonably-priced
small hotels/motels and eating cheaply at places like CrackerBarrel,
Appleby's, In 'n Out Burger, etc.  Happy to share routing, timing, points of
interest, motel info, etc.
Weekend trip to DC29 Oct 2003 21:13 GMT7
The SO and I are planning to get out of Dodge for the weekend (next)
and definitely have Mt. Vernon on the itinerary. We want to hit a
couple high spots in DC, namely Jefferson, Lincoln, and Vietnam
memorials.  My questions:  It appears, using my Streets and Trips

Is there any public transport from Fort Myers downtown to Cape Coral?
Or is using a cab necessary?
Thanks
