We will be staying by Boston College and want to go to Harvard. The subway is right there, however an extremely long ride to get downtown to change trains. Any better way? How much would a cab cost? Or bus? Thanks

We will be taking our initial visit to this area in late June. We are US residents. I have made reservations on the Canadian side but am having second thoughts about staying there as opposed to the US side. Here are my concerns.

I intend touring round New England for a few days (4 - 7th March). Can I rely on just turning up at hotels or do I need to book? I don't know whether this is a light or heavy season at this time of year. Especially around Niagara Falls.

Can I use a UK Visa debit (not credit) card in a NYC ATM? It has the UK LINK logo on it, but no others. If so, is there usually a commission charge? I have have had no problems using this card across Europe. TIA
