Agency for aranged lifts?27 Feb 2004 21:27 GMT1
I am living in Germany, here we have some websites, where you can type
in where you are and where you want to go. Then a search engine trys
to find people who have the same route with their own car. Then you
can contact the driver and you will have a lift for free or for a few
New to group/Mom & Pop motel sites?27 Feb 2004 20:18 GMT2
Hi all; new here. Can anyone point me to any sites with good
comprehensive listings for small, independent (hopefully cheap)
motels? Motel Americana is one I'm familiar with (and have benefitted
from) but they'll just as soon list a photogenic ruin as a nice cool
transportation from Dublin airport to St. Patricks college27 Feb 2004 19:34 GMT4
I would like to know how to get from the airport to
St Patrick's college (Drumcondra Dublin 9). This would
be on a Sunday morning.  Web sites for public transportation
don't seem to be very helpful.
Redwood Trees27 Feb 2004 06:48 GMT6
If I am coming to San Francisco, and want to see giant trees, where is the
best place to do this?  I want to see the biggest trees for the investment
in time and such, so Australia is right out.  Otherwise, please advise.

My brother-in-law rang me last night to tell me of the nightmare in
which he has just found himself.
He is a citizen of a non-English-speaking Visa Waiver country. Last

Has anyone stayed at the Swiss 1291 hostel?  Or does anyone know much
about it.  I have checked out their website (www.1291.com) and it
seems nice.  However because I will be in NYC for almost 4 weeks.  I
dont want to commit to anything without at least getting a couple of
Rental cars and insurance - cheaper options than CDW/LDW?25 Feb 2004 16:28 GMT9
Some more rental car questions. Some of these are probably directed more at
the non-US residents than the Americans.  In our upcoming trip to the US we
will have three different rentals, totalling about 9 weeks. The thing I am
trying to sort out is the insurance situation.  That ...

highways, expressways, freeways -- meaning25 Feb 2004 10:14 GMT21
What is the distinction between all these? Or are the words just used
interchangably? I am not sure if it should matter, but I am asking from
a Canadian point of view.
