I'm going to be going to San Francisco for a few days and I'm just wondering
what areas would be ideal places to stay.

that look out of the way based on their map (SFO area, San Mateo, South San

A good friend and I are finally doing the classic US road trip that
we've talked about for the last decade or so ... a 17 day trip from
Seattle to San Diego in a hired convertible.  We've got a few must see
places ... Yosemite, San Fran, Oregon coastline and hopefully the

in Mid Town? Any comments on safety of JC and transit difficulties

I am visiting New Orleans with my girlfriend for a week. We are
wondering if there are any scenic places around that we can visit for
one day. Something like a river/lake/beach/national park. We dont mind
driving far as long as we can get back to the hotel at night.

SFO to Fishermans Wharf07 Sep 2004 18:00 GMT3
I searched for answers on this but many responses were very old.
We need to get from SFO to Fishermans Wharf to our hotel (on a friday,
mid-afternoon) with luggage etc.  Is taxi the best option (there are 2
of us)?  How much would that be?  Are mini-busses an option, what
Vegas to Grand Canyon - Best way to do it?07 Sep 2004 17:13 GMT5
We're going to be in Vegas for 5 nights and want to get out to the
Grand Canyon.  We'll have a hire car but is it practical to do a
return trip in a day by car?  We do not want to take a night stop over
there as we've paid for our Vegas hotel!
Parking OUTSIDE Big Cities07 Sep 2004 16:38 GMT5
We are interested in making a driving trip to see areas of interest
between DC and Boston, including NYC.  For these cities themselves,
however, we would rather not be encumbered by a car -- particularly in
Manhattan.  Is it possible to find safe, relatively inexpensive parking
