Staying in New York12 Jun 2005 11:49 GMT11
A group of six are looking to stay in New York next May 2006.  As none of us
have ever visited the US before, it would be helpful to know the best areas
of the city to stay for access to attractions, etc.  We usually count on
paying around £90~£100 a night for a room / 3 star ...

How's the Hotel Chelsea, NYC these days?12 Jun 2005 03:38 GMT1
I've got a room booked at NYC's Hotel Chelsea later this month.  I could
stay anywhere, but the history of the place appeals to me.  How is it,
staying there?  Is the history worth it, or is it a pit?

We're going back to Gatlinburg, TN from NJ this July.  We enjoy it there.
But this time I was wondering if we should divert on the way there or back.
Possibly WV, KY or TN itself.  We normally go through VA into TN.  We've
been through the Smokey National Park and my wife is from ...

Motive behind restaurant portions thread.10 Jun 2005 19:56 GMT17
Even though it has been an interesting thread IMHO this topic was
started as a typical Evleth backhanded way of bashing the US.  As
someone else mentioned, Florida is certainly not known for wonderful
food.  That alone makes the topic suspect.  Do I really believe that
great deal too good to be true?10 Jun 2005 07:41 GMT2
I found a great deal on the internet from Clipper vacations for the
ferry from Seattle to Victoria and two nights lodging.  I booked it on
my American Express and printed out a the reservation with the
confirmation #.  Then I got an email from the company saying they made

On my last 3 hour layover in Atlanta, I had to use the Men's Room.
There was only one stall available.  (No one else waiting).
When I came out, there was a older gentleman with a walker standing
in front of me.  He wanted to rip my head off.  (I used a handicap stall.)
