I forgot to post this just after Christmas, but better late than
never.
We went to NY for Christmas via KLM. On the segment Amsterdam-New
York, there were a lot of empty seats and we sort of spread out and

The Port Authority site suggests bus to Newark Penn and train to NY Penn. ($5)
After that, it would seem A -> F. ($2?)

Will be in Boston to attend a wedding and plan to spend 3-4 days in
NYC.  So a first question, which area of NYC should I look for hotels?
We are not really night life people.  An area with good restaurants,
walking streets, and access to public transport.  TIA.
