We are considering a visit to one of the garlic festivals in Ontario,
probably in Perth or Picton. We have previously visited the Hudson
Valley Garlic Festival in Saugerties, NY, but have a conflict this year
on that weekend.
Picking up a rental car at JFK28 May 2006 04:15 GMT1
I am flying into JFK in two weeks and picking up a rental car from Dollar.
Last time I did this at JFK I called the rental company (I think it was
Avis) and they came to pick me up.
Now, with the airtrain, I'm a bit confused.

MetroCard swiping27 May 2006 16:12 GMT12
Okay, I'll admit I'm dumb.  Now that that's out of the way, I can ask
my question.  How exactly is a MetroCard swiped at a subway
turnstile?  From the online description, it does not appear to be the
same as using a credit card at a typical gas station, where one inserts

Problems With Canadian ATMs?26 May 2006 11:21 GMT14
Have their been any technical difficulties with Canadian ATM networks?
I had some trouble with my cards there last week.  I've been to my
bank and ruled out trouble at my end.  So has there been trouble with
the Canadian networks?  Thanks.
Travel from San Franciso to Yosemite26 May 2006 05:19 GMT50
We are flying to San Francisco in July, spending several days in the city,
and then heading to Yosemite for a couple of days. We don't want a car while
in the city, but do need one for the excursion. My current plans are to head
back to the airport and rent one there, but I am ...
Enterprise US Rental - Visit Canada26 May 2006 04:55 GMT14
I'm renting a car from an Enterprise outfit that has one mileage rate
for the US and another for taking the car into Canada.
   >>> My question is, how will they know I've been to Canada?  <<<
And, further, why would they care?
Vermont to Montreal26 May 2006 00:40 GMT1
Is there a good way to get from Vermont to Montreal? I looked at
Amtrak, and they take 4 hours just to get from the border to Montreal,
which is amazing, as it is 60 miles or so. Why?
Greyound has a service from Burlington to Montreal, which takes 2h30

Are there websites like www.autoeurope.com but who specialize in North
American car rental? They are a broker and offer great pre-pay rates
including most insurance cover. They offer cars from almost all rental
companies.
