year old lawyer who was photographing the police brutality, no wonder tourists
are wondering whether they will be entering a war ...

We are thinking of going to the upper penninsula of Michigan in mid August.

where dogs are allowed on beaches.  Can anyone tell me of some good
beaches that allow dogs, in the northern part of the Gulf of Mexico?

A few months back I asked this group for suggestions for a 2 week trip
for myself and my 68 year old mum.  Well, just a quick post to say we
had a fantastic time in USA and all your suggestions on the trip worked
well.

From Denver on I-70 thru Kansas to Kansas City
or
From Denver on I-76 to I-80 thru Lincoln, Nebraska to 2 to I-29 to
Kansas City

I'm taking a Greyhound from NYC to Altoona and back- it's 8 hours or a
bit more each way.  I'm bringing my mp3 player and some books, as well
as some food and drink.  My questions are these- which foods would
carry well? Any recommendations for traveling music? I'm travelling

We're flying into New York City for three days next month.
We then have to get to Fairfax,VA (near DC) for four days
before returning to the Big Apple for three days.
What is the best way for us to get from NYC to Fairfax or DC?

What would be a good device (eg laptop) to use while traveling and emailing
back home? Something small and with a keyboard and with the ability to
connect to a phone line or download to a PC in an internet cafe with be
ideal.
