Oak Plantation Resort - Orlando06 Jul 2006 00:52 GMT1
We have an option to stay there in August.  Any experience with this resort?
Manhattan busses on weekends05 Jul 2006 06:24 GMT2
From searching through the RTU-C archives, it seems that busses
do not run as efficiently as they could during the week because of
all the double-parked trucks.  I would assume this to be much less
of a problem on Saturday and even less on Sunday, right?  During
Edmonton Canada Gestapo Getting Bad International Reputation - AVOID Edmonton05 Jul 2006 02:49 GMT11
The local media had a great day publicising the torture of a young woman by
another rogue Edmonton cop!!
This Gestapo-like thug was photographed by several reporters, while he beat
the handcuffed young lady and threw her face onto the pavement, breaking open
Driving While on Cell Phone Worse Than Driving While Drunk04 Jul 2006 19:54 GMT48
Maneuvering through traffic while talking on the phone increases the
likelihood of an accident five-fold and is actually more dangerous than
driving drunk, U.S. researchers report.  That finding held true whether
the driver was holding a cell phone or using a hands-free device, the
Safety: Hotel Crime Reports Banned From Online Travel Reviews04 Jul 2006 04:47 GMT1
I live in Virginia--near DC--and a hotel nearby has been suffered from
a lot of crime lately, according to my local paper's crime report. It'd
be nice to warn fellow travelers by posting the brief crime report but
I have discovered this is banned at all major travel review sites
NYC subway and Pan American Hotel 04 Jul 2006 04:34 GMT17
The Pan American Hotel sits on Queens Blvd. Their website states that
the Grand Avenue Newtown Station is only 2-3 blocks away, but it
does not state which way. Is the hotel east or west of that subway
station. Does the subway station exit onto Queens Blvd or a side street?
Cocoa Beach on Spring Break03 Jul 2006 21:36 GMT2
Is Cocoa Beach a crazy Spring Break spot or have all the college kids
moved elsewhere?  We want a quiet family vacation on the beach.  Spring
Break would be nice, but not if we're surrounded by all that craziness.
(Our kids are still young.)  Thanks.

Lockers at Penn Station / Grand Central Terminal03 Jul 2006 16:02 GMT2
Do luggage lockers exist at Penn Station and/or Grand Central
Terminal?  Manually coin operated or electronic?  Large enough
for maximum sized airplane carry-on bags (22"x14"x9")?
I tried to research this somewhat, but the official Grand Central
Car rental NYC to L.A.03 Jul 2006 08:28 GMT7
we're planning to do a one-way trip from NYC to L.A. three weeks from
now. The best one-way charges seem to be from "National", with
$199 opposed to about $500 at most others, so if there's noting
to say against National we'll take that... Second choice would be
NYC weekend rates in Manhattan03 Jul 2006 00:58 GMT3
In some cities business class hotels have specials on the weekends
because the business travelers have left and the hotels want to fill
up some of the rooms with tourists.  Is this true of Manhattan and
if so do you have any suggestions?
How do you know whether a NYC hotel is clean or not?02 Jul 2006 18:00 GMT5
I made reservations via Expedia for the Ramada Plaza New Yorker
for next month.  It is across from Madison Square Garden and
so with a decent location and having Ramada's name attached to it,
I kind of expected a decent room.  However, I should have checked
Edmonton; the only city in N.America where houses ...02 Jul 2006 15:54 GMT2
Edmonton ,Alberta is the only city in North America where houses only a
miles or two from three major refineries are sky rocketing in price.
Three major refineries and a few chemicals plants are operating just
a few miles from downtown Edmonton.
What car to expect in Hawaii (Budget)02 Jul 2006 02:33 GMT8
I'm just curious :-)  What make/model of car can we expect from Budget
rent-a-car on the Hawaiian islands? We booked 'full size' (Ford Taurus
or similar... what's similar :-)  )
Thanks.
