I'm going to be driving from Toronto, ON to Portland, ME on Friday.

It looks like a nice little (and I mean little) town.  We will take a 24
hour break from the westbound Amtrak Empire Builder there, but do not intend
to rent a car.  Has anyone done that and what did you think?
