Looks for California Beaches31 Oct 2007 23:40 GMT9
Over the last few months I've been building a list of California
beaches with their latitude and longitude coordinates.  So far I'm up
to 478.  The website hosting this list has the ability to show the
beaches on a map and list the distance to near by beaches and towns.
Chicago bar scene on a Monday night?30 Oct 2007 19:52 GMT3
I'm stuck in the vicinity of O'Hare (but close enough to a Blue Line
El station) on a Monday night.  I'd like to get out and hot some bars,
and possibly meet people, preferably a Boomer or GenX crowd.  I know
it's Monday, the deadest night of the week, but any suggestions would

Driver Licensing serves no purpose for highway safety that laws

NYC transit MetroCards and PATH?29 Oct 2007 20:50 GMT7
Is there any fare integration between PATH (subway service to NJ from
NYC) and the NYC subway? Can any form of MetroCards be used on PATH?
Otherwise - I assume that the single (flat rate) fares would be: $1.50
for PATH and $2.00 for NYC subway.

I'm planning to travel from New York to San Francisco by Amtrak over a
period of 3 weeks, during the last two weeks of November and the first
week of December. Besides New York and San Francisco I want to visit
some other cities along the track, at least Chicago, Denver, Glenwood

We will be staying a few days in S.F. after Christmas, from the 28th to the
31st. I am interested in hotels. I have looked at Slow Traveler and most of
the recommendations there are for the small, boutique type that cost more
than I want to pay. (There will be 3 adults, my wife ...

Hawaii transport other than private cars27 Oct 2007 23:43 GMT20
I am visiting the big island of Hawaii in January on a RTW trip from the
UK. I would like to stay in Kona for 3 nights and Hilo for 3 nights. I
do not drive. (I am thinking of the "Seaside" hotels).
What is the most practical method to get from one to the other?

In September 2008 I will have a 48 hour stop over in Los Angeles and
would welcome advice on where to stay and what to do and see. I am an
elderly male, travelling alone and an OK walker. Your comments will be
appreciated.
